Alicia Lyons Laufer has been the managing, founding partner of Laufer & Laufer, P.A. since its inception in 2012. As Managing Partner, Mrs. Laufer handles all firm-related management matters. Mrs. Laufer focuses her litigation practice in the area of third-party personal injury, premises liability defense, civil rights defense and insurance coverage disputes. Mrs. Laufer has extensive trial and appellate experience, having argued the classification of investment instruments, and the constitutionality of state statutes, and many other issues, before a number of trial and appellate courts, including the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth and Eleventh Circuits.
Mrs. Laufer attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, and graduated with honors in Accounting. After working at a regional accounting firm in Atlanta, Georgia, where she conducted national audits for governmental clientele throughout the United States focusing on internal fraud investigations, Mrs. Laufer attended Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida, graduating Cum Laude in 2000. While attending law school, she was a member of the Nova Southeastern University Law Review and served as Chief Advocate of the Nova Southeastern University Moot Court Honor Society. Mrs. Laufer was an active Moot Court Advocate and participated in several national competitions, placing second in the Tulane National Invitational. She also received
the Goodwin Scholarship for each of the three years she attended Nova Southeastern. Mrs. Laufer clerked at the Office of the Attorney General, as well as for several private firms, which contributed to her experience in insurance, commercial litigation, and federal and appellate practice.
Mrs. Laufer began her legal career as an associate with the law firm of Adorno & Zeder, P.A., a/k/a Adorno & Yoss, P.A., where she represented both private and public corporations in litigation and transactional matters throughout the United States and Europe in the areas of domestic and international insurance, commercial regulatory, and federal commercial and securities matters. Mrs.
Laufer then joined the insurance defense firm of Luks & Santaniello, LLC where she gained experience in statewide, national, and international insurance litigation before she left to form Rubinton & Laufer, P.A. Mrs. Laufer was the managing partner of Rubinton and Laufer, P.A. for nine years focusing her litigation practice on third-party personal injury, employment litigation, premises liability defense, civil rights defense and insurance coverage disputes.
